Laggiù si vede che il tempo diventa forma dello spazio
- 2019 Modena
Plotinus defined Time as the “image of eternity”, as the movement through which the soul passes from one state to another of its life.
In the province of Modena, where I was born and raised, it often happens to glimpse old farmhouses entrusted to Time. The flow of eternity transforms these buildings, preserving the soul of those who lived in them, to give new life and to remind us of the inevitable transformation that every being or thing undergoes.
Like a sculptor, Time shapes what were once the homes of farmers to make them natural monuments. Through photography I am able to stop this process by freezing the continuous change. By stealing an instant of light from the present, transforming it into a copy of the past, the film becomes a casket of a World condemned to disappear to make room for the future.
